Japan’s economic presence in Iran beginning of a new phase in ties

Tokyo, May 30, IRNA – Head of Iran’s Chamber of Commerce, Industries and Mines said Friday evening that the presence of Japanese companies in Iran’s oil projects would start a new phase in bilateral economic cooperation.

Mohammad Nahavandian made the remark during a meeting with the Japanese parliamentarian Kotaro Tamura who is among the supporters of fostering Japan’s relations with Iran.

Nahavandian said the Japanese companies can invest in establishing banks in Iran, marine transport activities as well as oil and economic projects.

Tamura Iran was a powerful country in Asia and hoped Japan will promote amicable ties with Tehran.

He also hoped he will shortly travel to Iran to review the trade opportunities in the country.

The Japanese parliamentarian said Iran is the third crude oil supplier of Japan after Saudi Arabia and UAE.
